Women’s History Month 2019.
There’s nothing more powerful than when women come together.
Last Saturday I hosted seven women at my house to take fun portraits, drink mimosas and fellowship with one another. Some of the ladies knew each other, others didn’t, but it turned out to be a beautiful and rewarding experience. While sitting and listening to everyone’s stories, it made me appreciate not just the women who have paved the way for me, but the women currently on the same path I am. A lot of the time we look to women who may be out of reach or older than us to give us inspiration but sometimes all you have to do is look to your friends. From social media mavens to media girls, these are a few of the many women that inspire me everyday.

Who is a woman around your age that is an inspiration to you and why? I am always so inspired by my best friend Makala Kusi. She is the truest and purest form of 'living boldly and unapologetically'. Our friendship challenges me daily to live in truth, vulnerability and compassion, which has not only been monumental in my career, but also in life generally. I don't have an answer as to where I would be in my self-journey of healing, growth and introspection without her. I am forever grateful for this women and her everlasting light!

Who is a woman around your age that is an inspiration to you and why? This is a GREAT question. Can I say all my friends? They're amazing, hard-working women who always inspire me to do and want better for myself.
If I must pick one person, I'll say my best friend Jhonell. She's balanced law school, extracurricular activities, and working full time for the past 4 years and I can barely make time for anything outside of work. I've seen her work tirelessly to accomplish her goals, and still makes time to be an amazing and generous friend.

Who is a woman around your age that is an inspiration to you and why? I wouldn’t say it’s one woman in particular, more like eight. My entire girl-tribe inspires me in different ways. After nearly six years of friendship it’s truly amazing to see all their hard work and dedication pay off. So, when self-doubt seeps in or I’m feeling a bit discouraged, my girls are a constant reminder that nothing is out of reach. Their tenacity and drive pushes me to be the best version of myself and really tap into my unique skill-set to fulfill my greater purpose. We all explored completely different career paths, but having the support of such strong women no matter what we do, or what coast we’re on, is unmatched.
